Bob Ole is a legendary surfboard shaper. Originally hailing from Long Beach, California, he moved to Maui in 1971 to pursue his love of surfing. Ole has been shaping boards since 1956. In 2010, he was inducted into the International Surfboard Builders Hall of Fame. Over the past twenty years, Ole has also hosted surfing contests on the island to maintain a strong, healthy surfing culture. At the age of 93, Ole still continues the surfboard-shaping tradition today with the help of his friends and family.
